Funeral services for Mary “Juanita” Richardson will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Highland Park Baptist Church, Monroe, LA. Pastor Larry Linson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe
Mrs. Richardson was born on February 18, 1931 in Warden, LA and passed away on February 3, 2019 in Monroe, LA. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She was Co-Owner of Kirk Welding and Repair Shop with her husband Virgil. She retired in 1981 from J. C. Penney where she was employed as a salesclerk for 14 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading and baking. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and granny and always put her family’s needs before her own. She was an excellent role model for how to live life as a moral, humble person. She was a long time member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Elizabeth “Bessie” Bunch and “Daddy” Thomas Felix Bunch, Sr.; father, Oscar Curtis Lee; brother, Thomas Felix Bunch Jr.; son-in-law, Dan Slakter DuBos.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 73 years, Virgil E. Richardson, the love of her life, having married in 1945; daughters, Rita DuBos, Sheila Barry and husband, Robert; granddaughter, Crystie Sodd Oden and husband, Greg; great grandson, Garrett Oden and Kaitlyn; great great grandson, Ashton Oden, and her sister, Debbie Bunch, and along with a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Barry, III, Greg Oden, Garrett Oden, Peyton Brakefield, Gary Richardson and Glen Richardson.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. Michael Sampognaro.
There will be a visitation from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Highland Park Baptist Church in Monroe, LA.
