Graveside services for Herman Senn Jr., will be held at 12:30 P.M., Monday, February 4, 2019 at Farmerville City Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville. Rev. Kurt Auger and Scotty Aulds will officiate.
Herman, 89 of Farmerville, reported to his commander-in-chief January 31, 2019. He was born March 17, 1929 in Spearsville. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Senn, Sr. and Macie Kelley Senn; sister, Peggy Joyce Bird.
Herman was the instrumentation supervisor at IMC, formerly Commercial Solvent and Koch Industries. He was the Justice of the Peace for Union Parish Justice Court from 2002 – 2014. His lifelong interests included collecting German luger pistols, gardening, growing pecans and inventing gadgets. Meticulous, precise and perfection describe him well. Herman was once told he was a “fanatic for perfection”. Anyone that knew him well would agree. He grew up in a time where hard work was expected and the more money you saved the better. Herman expected excellence from those around him and from himself. If he disagreed with you, you knew it, but if he was proud of you, you knew that too. He was proud of his five daughters. The Bible says, “a good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children” Proverbs 13:22. Herman Senn, Jr. was a good man.
Herman is survived by his five daughters, Becky Bailey and husband Butch, Mary Woodville and husband Mark, Virginia Prothro, Lynn Wilson, Christa Edwards and husband Joey; grandchildren, Joe Bailey, Jeremy Bailey, Emily Bailey, Chris Prothro, J. J. Prothro. Wesley Prothro, Bonnie Bryant, Justin Woodville, Kathleen Wyatt, Harrison Wilson, Kayla Edwards, Katie Edwards, Karoline Edwards; nine great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Bailey, Joseph Bailey, Joey Edwards, John Crow, Scotty Aulds, and Bruce Hampton.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until Noon, Monday, February 4, 2019 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Farmerville.
