Funeral services for R. L. Vail will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 15, 2015 in the chapel at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Rev. Danny Hawthorne will officiate. He will be laid to rest following the service at Mt. Olive East Cemetery near Hodge, LA.Mr. Vail was born September 22, 1927 and passed away on June 13, 2015. He was a retired mechanical adjuster at Stone Container of Hodge, LA. Mr. Vail served as an Air Force Master Sergeant at Kelly Air Force Base from 1950-1955. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth Kelly Vail of Bienville Parish; sister, Earnestine Vail Perry; first wife, Annie Mae Knotts Vail.Mr. Vail is survived by his wife, Lois Clay Vail; daughter, Donna Hughes and husband, Ricky; grandsons, Richard Joseph Hughes and wife Elizabeth and Stephen Dwaine Hughes and wife, Lindsay; four great-grandchildren, Abigale and Jenna Hughes, Leah and Douglas Hughes all of Pasadena, Texas. Pallbearers will be Timothy Ferguson, Jerry Hart, Alan Henry, and Ricky Joe Hughes.
