Paul Matthew Hogan, age 81, of Ruston passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018.A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 10th at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer located at 504 Tech Drive in Ruston, with Reverend Bill Easterling officiating.As a devoted member of his community, Paul championed numerous development projects in the Ruston area. He worked tirelessly, both behind the scenes and as an active participant in many organizations. As a resident of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, he was a founding father of the Old Fort Days Rodeo and a city council member. In Ruston, Paul served as President of the board for NLMC, formally Lincoln General Hospital, as a former member of the Board of Directors at Community Trust Bank and several terms on the Ruston Lincoln Industrial Development Corporation board.Paul loved to work on antique cars and trucks and was a devoted family man. He will be remembered as the foundation of his tight-knit family who celebrated life together often.Paul was preceded in death by his parents Irene and Maurice Hogan; brothers LeMoyne, Bob and Lamar Hogan. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Johnnie Frazier Hogan; son Bill Hogan and wife Kelly, daughter Ginger Manuel and husband David, and son David Hogan and wife Ruthie. Poppy was admired by his grandchildren Melissa Manuel, Matt Manuel, Taylor Hogan, Frasier Hogan, Natalie Hogan, Maddie and Landry Hogan; and three step-grandchildren Alexandra Clement and Murphy and Emma Miller.Paul friends Kyle Green, Dusty Taylor, Dick Albritton, Terry Bromell, Scott Thompson, Jimmy Hoogland, Clay Hipp and Layne Weeks will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Thursday, August 9th at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Haskell Hall.In memory of Paul Hogan, contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Paul Hogan . . . a truly great man. He was a profoundly impactful role model to me growing up. The faith and love he showed in his marriage and to his children and family.
