Funeral services for Raymond M. Frost, 87 of Bossier City, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Dr. Mark Fenn will officiate and interment will be held at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Raymond was born on February 20, 1934 in Calhoun, Louisiana and passed away on August 19, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the United States Army, excelling as a Green Beret and a paratrooper. Raymond is retired from the Louisiana State Police and was also employed as a parole officer for the state. Additionaly, he was the corrections coordinator for the Ouachita Parish Police Jury. Raymond was a man of many talents, big stories, and had a mind like a steel trap. He never met a stranger and there was never a joke he wouldn’t laugh at. Raymond spent his life in service to his country through the United States Army and decades of law enforcement. He loved his family and everything he did; he did for them. Raymond never stopped thinking of them even through his last moment. He lived a big full life and he will be missed by many.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Ivey Floyd Frost and Opal Malone Frost and an infant brother, Leslie Weldon Frost.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lazane Frazier Frost; children, Raymond Jay Frost and spouse, Douglas Taylor, Laura Lazane Frost, Karla Frost Sweeney and spouse David Sweeney; grandchildren, Ellen Lazane Sweeney and cherished friend, Ian Summers, John David Sweeney; sister, Brenda Sue Frost Murphy; brother, Ivey Velton Frost; numerous nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
