Funeral services for Roy Cole Post, 86, of Farmerville, La. will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 202 North Washington Street, in Farmerville. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Mr. Post was born on October 26, 1933 and passed away on January 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen F. Post, Sr. and Rachel C. Post, sister Lucille Grogan, and brothers Ben F. Post and Glen F. Post, Jr. He is survived by his wife Nancy Beasley Post, his son, Richard Milton Post, daughter, Carole Cole Post, sister, Peggy Albritton and special friend, Dix Johnston.Mr. Post graduated from La. Tech University with a bachelor degree in accounting in 1955 and from Louisiana State University in 1964 with a master degree in finance. He served for two years in the United States Army primarily in South Korea. Mr. Post was an executive for Central Bank in Monroe, LA and worked there for more than 25 years. He also worked as president of the Dubach Bank and an executive of the Farmerville Bank. He spent the last 12 years of his career, working with the FDIC in Boston, Massachusetts.Mr. Post enjoyed gardening, and he was an enthusiastic LSU football fan. He dearly loved his family and his Lord. He enjoyed talking about Jesus and could quote large portions of scripture. He spent many hours teaching at nursing homes and Sunday school and faced his sickness and death with great faith and an incredible peace.Pall bearers will be David Post, Steve Post, Glen F. Post, III, Eric Post, John Albritton, Brad Post, Matt Post, Curt Booth and Larry Carpenter. Honorary pall bearers are A.L. Williams, Johnny Reeves, David Grogan and Thomas Wade. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Center for Children and Families at 622 Riverside Dr., Monroe, LA 71201.
