A celebration of life for Suzanne Brown Wolff will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church. Officiating will be Father Mark Watson.  Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe.

Suzanne Brown Wolff passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.  She was born on September 17, 1939, to J. E. “Doc” Brown and Susan Hart Brown, a prominent family of plantation owners and leaders in the community of Lake Providence. The Brown family owned and farmed cotton producing land along the Mississippi River in East Carroll Parish.

Suzanne graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BS in Education and furthered her education by receiving her Masters from Northeast Louisiana University.  She also was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.  While at SMU, she met her husband, the love of her life, Jerry Wolff, who was an accomplished athlete in basketball and particularly baseball.  Jerry and Suzanne married on September 2, 1961, and had two children, Jerry Wolff, Jr. and Susan Wolff Snyder both of Shreveport, LA. “Zanny”, as she was affectionately called by her grandsons, was their greatest fan.  She often traveled to Shreveport and Dallas to see Brown and Hart Snyder, sons of Susan Wolff Snyder and her husband, Jim; and Tripp and Garrison Wolff, sons of Jerry, Jr.  She went wherever the athletic action took her.  She loved the family beach trips and finding seashells with all her grandsons. Suzanne was a dedicated member of the Junior League and served on the original Cotton Country Cookbook Committee.  She later was the Director of the Job Link Program at ULM for 14 great years of service.  She loved her Investment Club and The Potpourri Book Club. Suzanne was committed to Jesus the Good Shepherd Church where she rarely missed Mass which was a legacy from her childhood. She was passionate about Bible Study Fellowship and got her friends involved with attending. She and Jerry enjoyed fun times at Bayou DeSiard Country Club with family and friends.

Suzanne is also survived by her brother; Michael Brown, and his wife, JoAnne;  nephews, Mark Brown and his wife, Cathy, Paul Brown and his wife, Bahia, Charles Brown and his wife, Theresa all of Lake Providence. She is also survived by nephews; John Brown and his wife, Lynn of Lake Providence, and Bob Brown and his wife, Mandy of Monroe.  Other survivors are her sister-in-law, Patricia Hawkins Wolff; nieces, Susan Wolff Herold and her husband, Charles, Linda Wolff Perry, Marcia Wolff  Gsell and her husband, George, and Cindy Wolff Barnes and her husband, Jerry; and many other family members and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. “Doc” Brown; brother, Jack and his wife, Doodle Brown; nephew, Billy Brown and her brother-in-law, Dr. James R. Wolff and her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Wolff.
