Funeral services for Wayne Porter Giddens, 92, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Sardis Baptist Church, Farmerville, LA. Officiciating will be Rev. Wesley Pittman assisted by Rev. John Rushing. Burial to follow at the Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Sardis Baptist Church, in Farmerville under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.Wayne was born on March 10, 1927 in Farmerville, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Porter Giddens; mother, Loma (Brantley) Giddens; wife, Earline (Smith) Giddens; wife Erma Jean (Richardson) Giddens; brother, Billy G. Giddens; and sister-in-law, Elsie Giddens.Wayne is survived by son, John Wayne Giddens (Janet) of Tyler, TX; son, Randy Giddens (Sue) of Farmerville, LA; daughter, Jan Rockett (Danny) of Spearsville, LA; brother, Jesse Giddens (Faye) of Marion, LA; sister, Fern E. Nelson of Billings, MT; Grandchildren: Ryan Giddens (Jennifer); Misty Giddens Brewer (Mike); John Colby Giddens (Julia); Luke Giddens; Jacob Rockett (Charlotte); five Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Wayne was a member of the Farmerville Church of Christ and a Veteran of WWII, serving in both the Merchant Marines and the US Army. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life and was a charter member of the PO-BOY Hunting Club. Wayne was a loyal Chicago Cubs Baseball and Chicago Bears Football fan. He was employed by IMC in Sterlington and retired from there after 43 years of service.Pallbearers will be Ryan Giddens, Luke Giddens, Jacob Rockett, Stein Baughman.
